English Premier League club also announces new board of directors.

Todd Boehly has been named the new Chelsea chairman, the English Premier League club announced on Wednesday.

"As custodians of Chelsea FC, we now begin executing our long-term vision and plan for the Club, creating an outstanding experience for its passionate, loyal fans, and continuing to challenge for top honors in line with Chelsea FC's decorated history," said Boehly, who is also the co-controlling owner of Chelsea FC and chairman and CEO of Eldridge.

"Working together, side-by-side, we are firmly committed to winning, both on and off the pitch. For us, that effort has begun," he added.

The club also announced the departure of current director Marina Granovskaia, saying that Boehly will also serve as an interim sporting director until a full-time replacement is named.

The new board of directors included Behdad Eghbali, Jose E. Feliciano, Mark Walter, Hansjorg Wyss, Jonathan Goldstein, Barbara Charone, Lord Daniel Finkelstein and James Pade. -
