A senior White House official stated in a statement to the American media that Trump will hold a meeting regarding this matter and will sign the decree.
PENTAGON IS EXPECTED TO START PREPARATIONS
According to U.S. laws, Trump cannot change the name of the Department of Defense without a law passed by Congress. Therefore, it is expected that the presidential decree Trump will sign will initiate all processes related to changing the name of the department to the Ministry of War and that the Pentagon will also make the necessary preparations.
The daily schedule sent by the White House to the press included information that Trump would make an announcement on Friday afternoon, but the subject of the announcement was not shared.
