US President Trump announced that he had called on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to "calm down" the attacks in Lebanon while giving optimistic messages regarding the temporary ceasefire process reached with Iran. Trump noted that the Tehran administration had shown a more reasonable attitude at the negotiating table and emphasized that the 14-day process, which began on the condition of opening the Strait of Hormuz, could result in peace. However, Trump also reiterated the threat that if an agreement could not be reached, the outcome for Iran would be "very painful."

In a brief phone interview with American NBC News, U.S. President Donald Trump evaluated the U.S.-Iran temporary ceasefire agreement and Israel's attacks on Lebanon.

CALL FOR NETANYAHU TO "DECREASE ATTACKS ON LEBANON"

Trump referred to his phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on Wednesday, stating, "I spoke with Bibi, and he will calm this issue down a bit. I think we need to act a little more calmly."

Highlighting the importance of reducing tensions in the region for the ceasefire agreement, the U.S. President claimed that Israel has "reduced" its attacks on Lebanon as of today.

“THEY ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO”

In the same interview, President Trump expressed that he is "very optimistic" about the temporary ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran and believes it will be implemented. Trump stated, "Iranian leaders speak very differently in meetings than they do to the press. They are behaving much more reasonably. They are willing to accept everything they need to. Remember, they currently have no military power."

HE DID NOT HESITATE TO THREATEN EITHER

On the other hand, the U.S. President did not hesitate to issue a threat to Tehran. Trump said, "If Iran does not make the deal, the situation will be very painful."

TEMPORARY CEASEFIRE BETWEEN U.S. AND IRAN INCLUDING ISRAEL

After the attacks initiated by the U.S. and Israel on Iran on February 28, which turned into a war with Iran's retaliations and attacks on some regional countries, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the acceptance of the ceasefire around 1:30 AM on April 8.

Trump stated that they accepted a two-week ceasefire on the condition of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, that they received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and that this serves as a viable basis for negotiations.

The Iranian National Security High Council, which stated that "Iran has achieved its goals in the war," also reported that the final negotiations are aimed to be concluded in Islamabad within a maximum of 15 days.

Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt have made intense efforts to ensure the continuation and conclusion of the message exchange between the U.S. and Iran.

The Israeli administration, which announced its support for the temporary ceasefire, continues its attacks on Lebanon, arguing that the issue of Lebanon is not included in the agreement.
