Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Closes Above 1,900 For 1St Time With New Records

BIST 100 gains 30.35 points, or 1.61%, from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Friday to surpass 1,900 points for the first time in history, with another record closing of 1,910.41 points, while it hit a new intraday all-time high of 1,914.13 points during the session.

Starting the day at 1,896.82 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 30.35 points, or 1.61%, from the previous close of 1,880.06 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,770.10 by market close, down from $1,775.20 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 3.9% to $72.38 per barrel as of 6.31 p.m. local time (1531GMT).
