The global economic crisis has led to the bankruptcy of many companies in Turkey, and today two more major companies joined the list. A bankruptcy decision has been made for Naz Örme Kumaş, which has been in production since 1992, and Fame Tekstil, which holds an important position in the industry.
The Bakırköy 2nd Commercial Court ruled on the bankruptcy of Naz Örme Kumaş ve Tekstil Sanayi A.Ş. and Fame Tekstil A.Ş. as of the same day. The decision stated that the duties of the concordat commissioner board were terminated and all measures in the case file were lifted. The court decided that the bankruptcy liquidation would be conducted according to the "ordinary liquidation" procedure.
TURKEY'S GIANT SUPPLIER WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO CONTINUE PRODUCTION
Founded in 1996, Naz Örme Kumaş was among the largest knitted fabric producers in Turkey with 45 knitting machines and a monthly production capacity of 800 thousand kilograms. Operating in a facility of 10 thousand square meters, the company was part of the supply chains of global giants such as H&M, Zara, Marks & Spencer, Pimkie, Next, and Miss Etam. The company, which stood out as one of the most critical fabric suppliers in the Turkish ready-to-wear sector for many years, officially went bankrupt with the court's decision.
FAME TEKSTİL ALSO STOPS GARMENT PRODUCTION
The bankruptcy decision was not limited to Naz Örme. The concordat process of Fame Tekstil, which has been operating since 1992, also came to an end. The company had a monthly ready-to-wear production capacity of 300 thousand units and had been producing for both domestic and foreign brands for many years. With the court's decision, the liquidation process of the company was officially initiated.
A NEW ERA FOR BOTH COMPANIES: LIQUIDATION PROCESS
With the court's ruling, the concordat period for Naz Örme and Fame Tekstil has come to an end. The bankruptcy liquidation of both companies has been officially initiated to be conducted within the legal framework.
