U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced that they are very close to a ceasefire in Gaza and that an agreement could be reached this week.

U.S. National Security Advisor Sullivan, during a press briefing at the White House, made assessments regarding the Biden administration's foreign policy. Sullivan stated that they are providing strong support to Israel in the Middle East and that "enemies like Iran" have been seriously weakened.

"WE ARE VERY CLOSE"

Sullivan, speaking very hopefully about the ceasefire process in Gaza, said, "We are very close to a ceasefire agreement, and the agreement could be finalized this week. I am not making a promise or a prediction, but we will work to make this happen."

Sullivan mentioned that the ceasefire agreement could allow for the return of hostages to their homes, a significant influx of aid to Gaza, and a more positive atmosphere that could pave the way for the political process moving forward.

STATEMENT FROM HERZOG

Israeli President Isaac Herzog recently emphasized the critical importance of the coming days for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in the Gaza Strip, stating, "These are critical days for the release of hostages. I support those involved in the negotiations and hope they reach an agreement soon."

BIDEN AND NETANYAHU DISCUSSED

Additionally, U.S. President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a phone conversation regarding the negotiations aimed at reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
