Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that they sent drones (UAVs) and expert teams to "protect" the US military bases in Jordan.
Zelensky made evaluations regarding the developments in the Middle East to the US-based The New York Times (NYT).
REQUEST CAME FROM THE US, UKRAINE TOOK ACTION
Zelensky noted that Ukraine sent preventive UAVs and expert teams to "protect" the US military bases located in Jordan, emphasizing that the team is expected to reach the Middle East shortly.
Zelensky indicated that the request came from the US and stated that they responded "immediately" to it.
"WE WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT AGAINST UAVS"
Zelensky reported that another team of Ukrainian experts would also go to the region, stating that this team would provide support to the regional countries not only in using Patriot systems against attacks but also in how they can protect themselves against Iranian-made UAVs.
Zelensky had previously stated that the US requested support from Kiev to combat the "Shahed" type UAVs launched by Iran in the Middle East, saying, "I ordered Ukrainian experts to be on standby. Ukraine supports its partners who help our security and protect the lives of our people."
