According to a report on CNN based on information from three sources familiar with the matter, Beijing has so far avoided direct involvement in the conflict. However, U.S. officials are closely monitoring developments that indicate China's stance may change.
The report also highlighted that China is one of the largest buyers of Iranian oil. It was noted that the Beijing administration has also communicated to Tehran that safe passage must be ensured in the Strait of Hormuz for the security of commercial vessels.

A source close to the intelligence community told CNN that Beijing is being cautious regarding potential support. According to the source, one reason for China's careful approach is that the war could threaten the country's energy security. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) declined to comment on the intelligence assessments in question.

The report also included allegations that Russia has provided satellite imagery and targeting intelligence to Iran. In this context, it was claimed that Russia shared data regarding the positions and movements of U.S. forces with Tehran.
