The Muş Provincial Health Directorate announced that some parameters in the analyses conducted on the tap water used in the city center exceeded the limit values set by regulations. Authorities stated that citizens should not use tap water for drinking and food preparation purposes until the results return to normal.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED ON THE ALLEGATIONS

In a written statement from the directorate, it was noted that comprehensive investigations and evaluations were being conducted regarding the allegations raised about drinking water in some media outlets and social media platforms in recent days.

SAMPLES SENT TO THE LABORATORY

The statement indicated that samples taken from different points of the Muş central drinking water system were sent to authorized laboratories, and it was stated, "As a result of the analyses conducted, it has been determined that some parameters are above the limit values specified in the regulations."

INFORMATION AND WARNING TO THE MUNICIPALITY

It was emphasized that the obtained analysis results were shared with Muş Municipality, the institution responsible for the drinking water infrastructure, and that necessary information and warnings were made. The statement conveyed that it was requested for the municipality to promptly carry out maintenance-repair and technical improvement works to identify the source of the non-compliance.

"TAP WATER SHOULD NOT BE USED DIRECTLY"

The Muş Provincial Health Directorate reported that the process is being closely monitored and that monitoring and inspection activities are ongoing, and provided the following warnings to citizens:

Tap water should not be used for drinking and food preparation,

In emergencies, water should be boiled for at least 10 minutes and then cooled before use,
