The U.S. Senate rejected a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump's authority to continue military strikes against Iran by a vote of 53 to 47. Meanwhile, Trump, who made evaluations regarding the ongoing process, stated, "Our success in war is 15 out of 10. We will continue the strikes. We have by far the largest army in the world, and Iran has been a massive threat for many years, for 47 years."

The attempt by opponents in the U.S. Senate to block President Donald Trump's attacks on Iran has failed.

A resolution jointly presented by Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and Republican Senator Rand Paul, aimed at restricting Trump's authority to continue the attacks, was voted on in the Senate.

REJECTED BY 47 VOTES

The proposal, which foresaw that Trump's attacks on Iran would be subject to congressional approval, was rejected by the Senate, where Republicans hold the majority, by a vote of 53 to 47. As a result of the first vote held under Congress since the start of the U.S. operation in Iran, Trump has received support from the upper chamber of Congress regarding the Iran war. A similar proposal is expected to be voted on in the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of Congress, later this week.

TRUMP: OUR SUCCESS IN WAR IS 15 OUT OF 10

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke about the ongoing war against Iran during a meeting at the White House. Stating that the war is going very well for the U.S., Trump said, "Someone asked, 'What would you rate it out of 10?'; I said, 'About 15.'

"IRAN HAS BEEN A HUGE THREAT FOR 47 YEARS"

Expressing that they will continue the attacks on Iran, President Trump stated, "We have by far the largest army in the world. And Iran has been a huge threat for many years, for 47 years. They were killing our people and people from all over the world." Trump claimed that if the U.S. did not attack, Iran would do this to Israel.

THE WAR DECISION HAD SPARKED GREAT DEBATE

President Donald Trump's attacks on Iran had drawn criticism from his political opponents. Trump was criticized for bypassing Congress in an unconstitutional manner when giving the order for airstrikes and for not providing satisfactory justifications for the war.
