WhatsApp is preparing to add a new feature to status updates. The messaging platform owned by Meta allows users who share status updates to tag another user with the new feature. When someone is mentioned, they will receive a notification, making it easier for users to interact with their target audience. During photo and video sharing through status updates, there will be an option in the title bar to tag a user. It is stated that the interaction between the user and the mentioned person will remain private as no one else who views the status will be able to see it. IDENTITY OF THE SHARER WILL REMAIN PRIVATETagged individuals will be able to reshare the status update with their own audience through a new reshare button on the status screen. However, when the person in question reshared the status update, the identity of the original creator will remain private. This means that those who follow the reshared status will not be able to directly reach the original creator. It is noted that this feature is still in beta stage and will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks.
