The 44-year-old employee named F. Iriskulov was filmed during the night shift at the private Lion Park zoo in Parkent, Uzbekistan, while trying to catch three lions that escaped from their cage into the yard at 5:00 AM.
In the footage recorded by Iriskulov, the three lions initially appear calm, watching the employee approach. However, one of the lions suddenly stands up, and the employee calls out, "Simba, calm down."
It was reported that the lions escaped from the cage due to the locks being left open. The employee was trying to record the capture moment to send to his girlfriend. The footage captures the employee's screams, and it becomes clear that he was attacked by the lions while the recording continued.
After the incident, two lions were tranquilized, while the third lion was killed. Other employees found their friend's remains hours after the attack. In an official statement, it was said, "The lions killed him and tore apart part of his body."
The regional police stated, "On December 17, three lions kept in a single cage at the private Lion Park zoo in the Parkent district of Tashkent Region escaped into the zoo's yard. The lions entered the yard and attacked and injured the 44-year-old caretaker born in 1980. Unfortunately, the caretaker lost his life as a result of his injuries."
