WHO IS ÜMİT ÖNAL?
Ümit Önal, a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Communication, began his professional career in the media and communication sector; he joined Turkuvaz Media Group in 2007 and held various positions including General Manager of ATV, Advertising Group Presidency, and Membership in the Executive Board until 2015. After taking on the roles of Board Member and General Manager of Digitürk in 2015, he managed the sale process of Digitürk to BeIN Media Group.
At the end of 2016, Önal joined the Türk Telekom family as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Sales and Customer Services, and in December 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Marketing and Customer Services; in August 2019, he was appointed as the CEO of the company. Önal continues to lead Turkey's digital and technological transformation within Türk Telekom.
Throughout his career, he has actively served in national and international associations. Önal, who served as the Chairman of the Board of the Mobile Telecommunications Operators Association (m-TOD) in 2020 and 2022, is still actively involved as a member of the International Investors Association (YASED) and the American Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK).
Ümit Önal was appointed as the CEO of the company in August 2019 and has also been serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Türk Telekom since March 2022.
