After the assassination attempt on Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, a spy hunt began in the capital Tehran. A special unit established within the Ministry of Interior and the military has started interrogating individuals and institutions that Haniyeh had contact with, including Commander of Ansar al-Mahdi responsible for Haniyeh's protection, Fetullah Camiri. As part of the ongoing investigation, more than 20 people, including high-ranking officers in Iran, have been arrested so far.
The Chief of Hamas' Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, turned his attention to this country after being assassinated by Israel in Tehran, the capital, where he went to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran's new president, Ebrahim Raisi.
WITCH HUNT BEGINS IN THE COUNTRY
A special unit established within the Ministry of Interior and the army has started questioning all the moments from Haniyeh's first arrival in Iran to the moment of the assassination, as well as the individuals and institutions he contacted, including Ensar al-Mahdi Commander Fetullah Camiri, who is responsible for the protection of the Hamas leader. So far, many people have been detained and more than 20 people have been arrested.
THE SECRET OF THE ASSASSINATION REMAINS HIDDEN FOR 140 MINUTES
Iranian sources stated that the secrets of Haniyeh's assassination remained hidden during the 140-minute period from the moment he entered the password-protected room at 23:40 until the explosion occurred at 02:00.
CONFUSION OF DUTIES AND AUTHORITIES
Former Iranian intelligence officer Ali Rezai stated that there is a serious confusion of duties and authorities between the units responsible for protection and intelligence, and this vulnerability reached its peak in the recent incident. Rezai, who pointed out that there are serious infiltrations into the Iranian intelligence institutions, said, "Within the state, the answer to the question 'Who is collaborating with which external services and to what extent does betrayal reach in relation to the Haniyeh assassination' is being sought. The recent assassination cannot be carried out without intelligence support."
IRANIANS ARE NOT CLEAR
Hamas sources shared that there has been a problem with the flow of information from the very beginning and that Iranian officials have avoided making clear definitions. While uncertainties about the weapon and method of the attack in which Haniyeh lost his life continue, Iranian sources shared the information that "all the conversations that Haniyeh had from the moment he entered the Veterans' Guesthouse at 23:40 until he was shot at 02:00 and who knew that he was there and who he contacted with his phone or similar devices are being investigated."
AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS ACTIVATED AFTER THE EXPLOSION
It is among the information that the Revolutionary Guards activated the air defense systems and launched several missiles after the explosion in the building where Haniyeh was staying. Another striking development regarding the incident was the initiation of search and screening activities in the hills surrounding the Veterans' Guesthouse from the very beginning, and the detention and interrogation of more than 10 people who claimed to have walked in the Tuchal Hill area.
MOSSAD REVISED THE LIST
Meanwhile, Hamas sources stated that they sent an investigation delegation to Tehran regarding the incident and stated that Mossad revised its assassination list. In this regard, it is believed that Mossad will focus on Yahya Sinwar and Khaled Meshaal and reshape Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank according to Netanyahu's own agenda. It is also noted that the option of Mohammed Dahlan will be imposed within the framework of the Israel-West-Gulf joint strategy, and at this point, a Barghouti may also be released, and the elimination of Hamas and the acceleration of radical change and recruitment activities will take place.
According to Iranian experts, the downing of President Raisi's helicopter and the Ukrainian plane, as well as the assassinations and attacks carried out, including those of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and Qasem Soleimani, are more related to Iran's internal betrayals than to Mossad's success. The expectation for the future is that the Tehran assassination will be covered up with many uncertainties.
