Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that he would meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin after a joint plan is developed with the United States and Europe. Zelensky said, "Then we will sit down with Putin and stop the war. I am only ready to meet under this condition; I am not ready to meet under any other compromise." Meanwhile, the Ukrainian leader is set to visit Turkey in the coming days.

ZELENSKY: I DO NOT TRUST PUTIN REGARDING NEGOTIATIONS
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at a security panel held as part of the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC 2025), discussed possible negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky stated that he does not trust Putin regarding negotiations and emphasized that if such talks were to take place, Ukraine must produce a joint solution with its Western allies.
CONDITION OF "JOINT SOLUTION PLAN WITH THE US AND EUROPE"
Zelensky mentioned that they had previously discussed prisoner exchanges with Russia but claimed that Russia had gone back on its word. Reminding that he spoke on the phone with US President Donald Trump, Zelensky stated that Trump shared his mobile phone number "so he could call him whenever he wanted." Zelensky pointed out that they need to work on a joint solution plan with the US and Europe to end the war, and only after that would he sit at the table with Putin.
"WE WILL SIT WITH PUTIN AND STOP THE WAR"
Zelensky, who expressed that he would only meet with Putin, said, "Then we will sit with Putin and stop the war. I am only ready to meet under this condition; I am not ready to meet under any other compromise condition." Zelensky expressed that they need the US to stand by Ukraine rather than mediation in the process of ending the war.
Stating that they have not yet discussed a peace plan, Zelensky noted that this plan would not be signed in Munich, emphasizing that they first need to work with Trump on the matter. Referring to the talks initiated with the US to cooperate regarding the mineral wealth in Ukraine, Zelensky stated that their goal is to protect these mineral resources from Russia and those collaborating with it.
Evaluating the incident of a drone hitting the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Zelensky claimed that Russia attacked the plant and wanted to send a message to MSC 2025 with this attack.
ZELENSKY WILL COME TO TURKEY
On the other hand, Zelensky stated that he would go to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the coming days, where he would hold discussions on the prisoner exchange issue and humanitarian aid programs related to the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky mentioned that after his contacts in the UAE, he would go to Saudi Arabia and then announced that he would come to Turkey for official contacts.
Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed that he would meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Zelensky noted that he does not plan to have any meetings with representatives from the US or Russia during his visits.
