A fight broke out between two young people sitting outside with a group of friends in Sarıyer over a girl. S.Y. stabbed Mir Hüseyin D. in the neck with a knife he had taken in his hand after chasing him for a while. Mir Hüseyin D. was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery due to the knife wound in his neck. Those moments were captured by a security camera, and the suspect was apprehended.
On August 9, Saturday, around 04:45 in the Rumelihisarı neighborhood of Istanbul, Mir Hüseyin D. (22) started chatting with a group of friends. After a while, a young girl named Rabia, who was later learned to be a university student, passed by them. While they were talking about the young girl, a dispute broke out between Mir Hüseyin D. and S.Y. After the altercation, the parties separated. Five minutes after the incident, S.Y., who came to the scene with a knife in hand, began to chase Mir Hüseyin D.
STABBED IN THE NECK
Mir Hüseyin D. entered a business located on the street, where he was stabbed in the neck by S.Y., who followed him. During the fight, the employees of the business tried to separate the parties. Mir Hüseyin D., with the knife stuck in his neck, came outside injured. The attacker S.Y. quickly fled the scene. Those moments were captured by security cameras second by second, and after the incident, Mir Hüseyin D. sat on a chair in front of the business with the knife still lodged in his neck for a while.
RUSHED INTO EMERGENCY SURGERY; SURVIVED A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION
The first intervention for Mir Hüseyin D. was made by the medical teams who arrived at the scene upon notification. Mir Hüseyin D., with the knife in his neck, was taken to the ambulance and transferred to Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital in the Seyrantepe campus of Sarıyer. It was learned that Mir Hüseyin D., whose knife was removed through surgery, survived a life-threatening situation.
SARIYER POLICE CAPTURED HIM
The Sarıyer Public Order Bureau teams, who initiated an investigation into the incident, consulted the testimony of eyewitness Mustafa Gürkan Ç. (25). The police, who also examined the security camera footage, identified the suspect as S.Y. S.Y. could not be found at his home during the raid. Continuing their efforts, the police teams captured the suspect on a street in the Pınar neighborhood. It was revealed that S.Y., who was taken to the police station, had five previous criminal records. Legal proceedings were initiated against S.Y., who was referred to the courthouse for the crime of 'attempted murder.' S.Y. was arrested by the court he was brought before.
