AHMET ARAS RESPONDS TO ALLEGATIONS
While the CHP reacted strongly to the inter-party transitions, new transfer allegations also emerged in the corridors. One of the names mentioned in these allegations is Ahmet Aras, the Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality... Aras, who made a statement on his social media account, categorically denied the allegations of party change.
"I CANNOT CONSIDER SWITCHING TO ANOTHER PARTY"
In his post, Aras stated: "As the Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, it is unthinkable for me to transfer to another party by appropriating the votes I received from our people thanks to our ancestral party, the Republican People's Party. The marks we leave during these temporary duties will either be a source of pride or shame for our family, our children, and our grandchildren in the future. Ultimately, the positions attained through the votes of our people are not spoils, but a trust. They cannot be taken and transferred to another party. This is my belief and thought."
