In the diploma investigation, Abdullah Volkan Uçak, who was labeled as a "fake psychologist," stated that he has a psychology diploma from Dublin University in Ireland. However, he said that after giving his e-government password to people he met online while trying to obtain equivalency to work in Turkey, his life took a turn for the worse. He mentioned that he was released after being detained for 40 days based on the defendant's statement.
On May 27, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office conducted an operation against those who forged the electronic signatures of managers in certain public institutions, gaining unauthorized access to the systems belonging to these institutions, and issuing fake university diplomas and driver's licenses. In the operation, which took place simultaneously in 16 provinces, 58 suspects were detained. Many of the suspects were arrested.
ARRESTED FIRST, RELEASED WITH THE DEFENDANT'S STATEMENT
Among those arrested was subconscious trainer Abdullah Volkan Uçak, who was publicly labeled as a "fake psychologist." Uçak was released on July 17, 2025, by the decision of the Ankara 22nd Criminal Court of First Instance after another defendant stated, "Abdullah Volkan Uçak has nothing to do with this. While we were checking if the system was working, we made a fake diploma using Abdullah Volkan Uçak's information."
MET WHILE TRYING TO GET EQUIVALENCE WITH A GANG
Uçak, who was released, made statements regarding the allegations against him. He said that he received psychology education from Dublin University in Ireland via the internet and also completed a master's degree. Uçak expressed that he needed equivalence to work in this field in Turkey, and therefore he researched online to obtain equivalence, while also obtaining certificates from many institutions in this field and started helping his clients through social media. Uçak stated, "While researching to get equivalence, I met a company online. They asked me for my high school and university diplomas. They also asked for my e-government password. I gave it because I was going to get equivalence. Then they sent me a diploma instead of equivalence. I said I have my diploma, I wanted equivalence. What is this? I will complain about you. After that, I had no further contact with them."
"I WAS DETAINED FOR 40 DAYS BECAUSE OF THEM"
Uçak stated that he was detained during the operation conducted in May and continued as follows:
"I never spoke to them again after they sent me the diploma. I had contacted them to get equivalence. I have nothing to do with them. However, I was labeled as a fake psychologist in the public eye. I have my diploma; I am not a fake psychologist. Moreover, my diploma is an international diploma. In addition to my diploma, I have many certificates. I was detained for 40 days because of them. Later, I was released after the defendant who prepared this system stated, 'Uçak has nothing to do with this. He applied to us for equivalence. When we got his e-government password, we made a diploma to check if the system we created works or not.'
"I USED TO BE A CARPET DEALER IN THE PAST"
Uçak explained that news has been shared recently stating, "The fake psychologist turned out to be a carpet dealer," saying, "Yes, I used to be a carpet dealer in the past. My being a psychologist does not prevent me from being a carpet dealer. My wife had a carpet cleaning company. I did that job too. However, I am definitely not a fake psychologist. I have no connection with these defendants whatsoever."
Lawyer Sıdıka Cin stated that her client was unjustly detained, that he had no connection with these suspects, and that he encountered these individuals while trying to obtain equivalence. She mentioned that when he was sent a diploma instead of equivalence, he immediately reacted and said he would file a complaint. Cin also stated that they would file a complaint against those who published these news articles.
Lawyer Coşkun Karakuş expressed that his client was unjustly lynched in the public eye, that he is not a fake psychologist, that he has many clients, and that he has healed many of his clients.
