U.S. President Donald Trump was booed at a Yankees baseball game in New York on the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

According to a report by The Hill newspaper, after Trump's image was projected on the stadium screens during the Yankees game he was attending, both cheers and boos rose from the stands.

Before the game, Trump visited the Yankees players in the locker room and watched the game from a private box with Yankees President Randy Levine. The players wore hats with "FDNY" in reference to the New York Fire Department and "NYPD" in reference to the New York Police Department, in memory of the first responders from the September 11 attacks.

SECURITY MEASURES INCREASED AFTER ACTIVIST ASSASSINATION

Following the armed assassination of Republican activist Charlie Kirk, security measures around Trump were increased. Heavy security was implemented both inside and outside the stadium where the Yankees baseball game was being played. Additionally, bulletproof glass partitions were installed around the private suite where Trump would watch the game.

Moreover, the September 11 memorial ceremony that Trump attended at the Pentagon yesterday morning was held in the inner courtyard this year for security reasons, rather than in the traditional location.
