The expression of a citizen's complaint in Kurdish during the Strategic Plan Workshop of Sancaktepe Municipality angered Arzu Karaalioğlu, the District Chairman of MHP Sancaktepe. Karaalioğlu expressed her reaction through her social media account, stating, "It is regrettable that this ethnic and separatist provocative attempt took place under the supervision and surveillance of the Mayor."
Before the local elections on March 31, Arzu Karaalioğlu, the MHP District Chairman of Sancaktepe, who reacted to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's visit to the MHP tent by saying "step back", drew attention with her sharing after a citizen spoke in Kurdish at Sancaktepe Municipality's Strategic Plan Workshop.

Karaalioğlu, who expressed her reaction by quoting that part of the workshop on her social media account, stated, "An attempt to provoke, helplessness, and a reflection of personal degradation towards the constitutional integrity of the Republic of Turkey, the language of the Turkish nation, and in short, the sanctity of the Turkish homeland has occurred at the 'Strategic Plan Workshop' held in the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress Hall. Language is the sole existence of the nation. The official language of the Republic of Turkey is Turkish. Whoever tries to pollute local administrations with their own interests and motives, render them useless, and even harm their independence will find the unwavering will of the Turkish nation and the Nationalist Movement against them."

In her statement, Karaalioğlu strongly criticized Sancaktepe Mayor Alper Yeğin, saying, "It is also regrettable that this ethnic and divisive provocative attempt took place under the supervision and surveillance of the Mayor. It is clear that anyone who turns a blind eye to this weak provocation and remains silent has a state of negligence and a bad intention. As the Nationalist Movement Party Sancaktepe District Presidency, we are following this heinous attempt and divisive seeds in every field and will not allow it."
