Aynur Sancar, one of the residents, stated, "There was an old building next door, and a demolition decision was made. They started in the morning, and around noon, our building began to shake. I warned the excavator, saying, 'This building is shaking a lot, there is something abnormal.' He gestured to me and continued. About 10 minutes later, there was a loud crash. The roof of the adjacent building literally fell into our building. The building is gone as it was. We have all been evacuated, and we don't know what to do now."
Özlem Ercümen, a resident of the neighborhood, said, "My brother lives in the building behind me, he has an 8-month-old baby and a school-aged child. What will these people do? Everyone is a victim because of a reckless demolition."
"I CLOSED MY SHOP"
Mehmet Ali Sevim, who runs a barber shop on the ground floor of the building, said, "While they were trying to demolish the building next door, they demolished ours. 2-3 columns are broken.
