The Ministry of Interior will implement a revolutionary structural change in the General Directorate of Security. With the new law to be enacted, the name of the General Directorate of Security will be changed to the Directorate of Security. Some departments will be elevated to the level of general directorate.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya attended the Annual Evaluation Meeting of Provincial Police Chiefs at the Şehit Demet Sezen Conference Hall of the General Directorate of Security (EGM). Minister Yerlikaya provided information about the changes to be made in the General Directorate of Security during the meeting. Yerlikaya stated that the new name of the Security will be the Security Presidency.
THE NEW NAME WILL BE SECURITY PRESIDENCY
Yerlikaya said: "To increase the institutional capacity of our General Directorate of Security and to transform it into a structure that will respond to the needs of today, our organizational work as the Security Presidency has started and is ongoing. Our standard staffing studies, which will determine the number of personnel that must be present in each province, which has become a necessity with the duty point system, are also nearing completion. God willing, we plan to complete this work by the end of this year and share it with the public and you.
THE WORKING SYSTEM OF POLICE OFFICERS IS ALSO CHANGING
Another important issue is related to the working order of our police officers. I mentioned in the General Assembly of the Parliament about our transition from the 3-group 12-36 working system to the 4-group 12-36 system, and I say it once again, God willing, after our May 25 period assignments this year, our graduates, in August and September, immediately after that, these new assignments and period assignments and first appointments will start, and God willing, we will put this system into effect.
