Filipino food vlogger Emma Amit passed away two days after sharing a video on her social media account where she consumed a species of crab known to be toxic. The footage of 51-year-old Amit cooking and eating crabs, which are referred to as "Devil crabs" among the local population, has resurfaced following her death.

Emma Amit, a 51-year-old food vlogger living in the Philippines, made the mistake of her life while creating content for her social media followers. WAS SEEN HUNTING IN HER LAST VIDEO

In her last video shared on February 4, Emma Amit was filmed hunting snails and shellfish near her beach house in Puerto Princesa. The video captured moments when Amit also collected the poisonous crabs and cooked them in a pot to eat.

7 CRAB SHELLS FOUND IN HER HOME

According to a report by ABS-CBN, officials who inspected Amit's home after the incident seized seven consumed crab shells. It was reported that a friend who ate the crabs with Amit also died from poisoning.

KILLS WITHIN A FEW HOURS

Barangay Captain Laddy Gemang stated that the content creator lost consciousness immediately after eating and died on February 6 at the hospital she was taken to. Gemang warned the local people with the following words: "Be careful not to eat this devil crab because it is deadly. It is dangerous enough to kill you within a few hours."

STATISTICS ARE FRIGHTENING: HALF OF THE CASES RESULT IN DEATH

The species Zosimus aeneus, commonly found in the Indo-Pacific region, contains a high level of neurotoxin that paralyzes the central nervous system when ingested. This species, considered the most poisonous crab in the Philippines, results in death in 50% of the poisoning cases it causes.
