The entire shares of Serik Belediyespor, the new team in the TFF 1st League, have been sold to a foreign investor. Thus, for the first time in Turkish football history, an entire club has been sold to a foreign investor.
In recent years, after the company Sport Republic purchased 70% of Göztepe's shares, a first occurred in Turkish football history. Following this agreement, a historic contract was signed, and Serik Belediyespor, one of the teams competing in the 1st League, was sold entirely to a foreign investor.
IT WAS SAID 50%, BUT IT WAS SOLD COMPLETELY
Although it was previously announced that 50% of the shares would be sold, Azerbaijani investor Tufan Sadiqov took over all of Serik Belediyespor.
FIRST IN TURKISH FOOTBALL
With this acquisition, for the first time in Turkish football history, a foreign investor has purchased an entire Turkish club. Previously, the UK-based company Sport Republic had bought 70% of the shares of the Super League team Göztepe.
