The Super Lig team Konyaspor announced that it has initiated legal and administrative proceedings to terminate the contract of Senegalese footballer Allasane Ndao, who was given a 12-month ban for allegedly participating in betting.

In a statement made from the club's social account, it was noted that the penalty given to Ndao has been finalized by the decision of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Appeals Board.

In the statement emphasizing that the penalty has become final and binding within the framework of the Constitution and TFF regulations, the following expressions were included:

"Due to the fact that the player's actions also constitute a crime, a detention order has been issued as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Our club, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Konyaspor Sports Club Professional Football Disciplinary Regulations for the 2025-2026 season and the professional football player contract signed with the player, requested the player's defense immediately after the Appeals Board's approval decision and initiated the necessary legal and administrative procedures for the unilateral and justified termination of the contract by us."

Ndao received a red card for stepping on an opponent's foot during the match against Beşiktaş last season. He also made headlines with a hand gesture after being sent off.
