In Osmaniye, a passenger bus collided with a truck from behind while in motion, resulting in the deaths of 7 people and injuries to 11 others. Governor Erdinç Yılmaz stated that the accident occurred due to the truck's tire bursting in the middle lane while in motion, leading to the bus crashing into the back of the truck. The impact caused significant damage to the bus, leaving it almost in pieces.
In the Bahçe district of Osmaniye, a horrific traffic accident occurred in the morning hours, resulting in the death of 7 people and injuries to 11 others, 2 of whom are in serious condition.
THE TRUCK'S TIRE BURST, THE BUS CRASHED INTO IT FROM BEHIND
According to a statement from the governor's office, the accident occurred around 05:00 at the 052-12-006 kilometer mark of the E-90 Highway, in the direction of Osmaniye-Gaziantep. A truck with license plate 06 CSZ 834, driven by H.K. (52), and its attached trailer with license plate 33 AGN 261 stopped in the middle lane due to a tire burst. At that moment, a passenger bus with license plate 27 AVD 454, operating on the İzmir-Gaziantep route and driven by A.A. (42), crashed into the stopped truck from behind while traveling in the same lane.
THE BUS WAS SHATTERED
The impact caused significant damage to the bus. A large number of gendarmerie, police, medical, and fire teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams managed to rescue the trapped passengers after long efforts. According to initial assessments, 11 passengers on the bus were rescued with injuries. According to the statement from the Osmaniye Governor's Office, the death toll has risen to 7. Identification efforts for the deceased passengers are ongoing.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED REGARDING THE ACCIDENT
The governor's statement included, "The on-duty public prosecutor has been informed, and a judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the incident. The road has been closed to traffic, and necessary security measures have been taken."
