After arguing with her husband in Antalya, Hatice Doğan left the house and tragically lost her life when the SUV she was driving fell into a canal. Her husband, Gürsel Doğan, who arrived at the scene, suffered a nervous breakdown. Watching the lifeless body of his wife being pulled from the canal, Doğan cried, "I have three children. What am I going to say? What will I tell people? I saw her hand. Look at her hand, she’s dead, I swear," as he was overcome with tears.
A terrible accident occurred around 05:00 in Kanal Street, Yenigöl Neighborhood, Muratpaşa district of Antalya. Hatice Doğan (39), who allegedly had an argument with her husband Gürsel Doğan (47) during the night, left the house and drove away in her SUV.
VEHICLE FELL INTO THE CANAL
After a while, Hatice Doğan had an accident while driving. The vehicle driven by Doğan fell into the irrigation canal belonging to the DSİ by the roadside. Gürsel Doğan, who could not reach his wife, informed his relatives.
Those who came to work in the field next to the canal around 07:00 noticed the vehicle overturned in the water and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, many fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the accident site. The teams wanted to check for anyone who might be in the submerged SUV. However, as no results were obtained, a crane was called to remove the vehicle, and the road was closed to traffic.
HUSBAND WATCHED IN TEARS
Meanwhile, Gürsel Doğan, who was reached through the vehicle's license plate, arrived at the scene. Unable to hold back his tears upon seeing the vehicle in the water, Gürsel Doğan said, "I beg you, pull it out with the car, I swear I will go inside. I have 3 children, what will I say, what will I say."
The vehicle was pulled out of the water with a crane. During this time, Gürsel Doğan watched with tears as the SUV containing his wife was pulled out of the water.
"LOOK AT HER HAND, I SWEAR SHE IS DEAD"
Seeing his wife's hand in the vehicle that was brought to the road, Gürsel Doğan began to cry, saying, "I saw her hand. Look at her hand, I swear she is dead. What will I tell people?" His relatives tried to calm him down. During this time, Doğan ran towards the place where the vehicle was, wanting to see his wife, but the police did not allow him.
WOMAN'S BODY WAS RECOVERED
The lifeless body of Hatice Doğan in the vehicle was recovered, and police teams conducted an investigation. After examinations around and in the vehicle, Hatice Doğan's body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. While the vehicle was being towed, the grieving husband Gürsel Doğan was also taken away from the scene by his friends. The police investigation into the accident is ongoing.
