A warrant for the arrest of former Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan and businessmen Fazlı Ateş and Mehmet Okan Kaya, who were released yesterday as part of the bribery and corruption investigation against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, was issued following the prosecutor's appeal.

A significant development occurred in the case regarding the "bribery" and "corruption" investigation against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. In yesterday's hearing, a new arrest warrant was issued for former Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan and businessmen Fazlı Ateş and Mehmet Okan Kaya, who were granted release, upon the prosecutor's objection.

COURT PROCEEDINGS

As part of the investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment consisting of 702 pages was prepared against a total of 41 defendants, including Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who was arrested on July 5, 2025, his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, former Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan, and several businessmen.

The indictment includes charges against the defendants for "extortion, unlawful acquisition of property, influence peddling, money laundering from criminal activities, qualified fraud, and defamation," while 26 separate actions identified at this stage were legally evaluated.

702-PAGE INDICTMENT ACCEPTED

The indictment accepted by the Antalya 6th High Criminal Court requested the punishment of Muhittin Böcek for "extortion, unlawful acquisition of property, and money laundering."

Charges of "unlawful acquisition of property and money laundering" were directed against former Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan, while Mustafa Gökhan Böcek faced accusations of "aiding extortion, influence peddling, and unlawful acquisition of property."

For the defendants Zuhal Böcek and Zeynep Kerimoğlu, who are not in custody, a sentence was requested for "money laundering from criminal activities."

CRITICAL DECISION FROM THE HIGHER COURT

In the hearing held yesterday, the court decided to continue the detention of Muhittin Böcek and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, while ruling for the release of İlker Arslan, Fazlı Ateş, and Mehmet Okan Kaya with a travel ban.

However, the prosecutor's objection to this decision was accepted by the higher court. Following this development, a new arrest warrant was issued for the three individuals in question.
