The General Directorate of Highways announced that the implementation for collecting tolls for foreign-registered vehicles on highways, bridges, and tunnels built under the public-private partnership model in Turkey has begun at the customs gates.

The General Directorate of Highways announced that tolls for highways, bridges, and tunnel crossings in Turkey are now being collected at customs gates for vehicles with foreign license plates.

TOLL FEES FOR BRIDGES AND HIGHWAYS WILL ALSO BE COLLECTED FROM FOREIGN LICENSE PLATE VEHICLES

In a post made from KGM's US-based X account, it was reported that the application, which started with the collection of highway tolls operated by the General Directorate in 2022, now includes all highways, including those built under the public-private partnership model, bridges, and tunnels.

THOSE WHO DO NOT PAY WILL PAY AT THE CUSTOMS GATE

In the statement, it was noted that users of vehicles with foreign license plates can obtain their HGS cards from customs entrances, and the following was recorded: "You can make your payments at the toll booths, through the 'Violation Passage Inquiry and Payment' link on 'kgm.gov.tr', or by entering your license plate information on the relevant highway's website. If you have not paid your toll fee, you must pay it at the customs gate when exiting Turkey. You can pay your fee without penalty within the first 15 days after the passage date. A penalty of one times the toll fee is applied for delays of 15-45 days, and a penalty of four times the toll fee is applied for delays of more than 45 days. Check your passage information in Turkey for a smooth journey.
