The obligation to carry cash in local markets is coming to an end. Starting from August 15, the use of POS devices will be mandatory in all markets across Turkey. Citizens will be able to make their market purchases using credit or debit cards.
While shopping at the market, the worry of cash is coming to an end. A new application that concerns hundreds of thousands of market vendors across Turkey has been initiated. From now on, the use of POS devices in markets is becoming mandatory.
CUSTOMERS WITHOUT CASH WILL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE SHOPPING
Thanks to the new application, citizens will be able to easily make their market purchases with credit or debit cards. Consumers without cash will also be able to continue their shopping without interruption.
USING A POS DEVICE BECOMES MANDATORY
The application starts on August 15. All market vendors will be required to use POS devices from this date. Meetings were held with banks regarding the high commission rates, and discounts were provided.
BOTH CITIZENS AND VENDORS WILL BENEFIT
Authorities state that this system will be beneficial for both citizens and vendors.
