PASSENGER BUS FELL INTO FERRY

A passenger bus carrying at least 40 people fell into the Padma River while trying to board a ferry in Dauladia, located in the Rajbari district of Bangladesh. Many fire and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene, while divers made dives to rescue the passengers trapped in the bus.

MISSING PASSENGERS

During the search and rescue operations, the lifeless bodies of 2 individuals were recovered, and 17 passengers were rescued. The search for the missing passengers is ongoing.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. In footage recorded by bystanders, the bus was seen suddenly accelerating and falling into the river while waiting in line to board the ferry. Some passengers managed to escape from the bus, which was submerged in water. - DHAKA
