A 65-year-old man who fell asleep after consuming alcohol in a park in Büyükçekmece died from freezing. His lifeless body was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution. It was reported that the man had fallen ill due to excessive alcohol consumption in the park yesterday, was taken to the hospital, but left before his treatment was completed.
In the Atatürk Park located in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul, S.Ö. (65) fell asleep after consuming alcohol late at night. In the morning, citizens who came to the park reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center upon seeing a person lying motionless.
DIED FROM FREEZING IN THE PARK
Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene following the report. While the police took security measures in the area, the health teams determined during their initial check that the individual had passed away. Investigations revealed that S.Ö. had fallen ill after consuming excessive alcohol in the park the previous day and had been taken to the hospital for treatment. It was learned that the individual left the hospital before the treatment was completed. The body of S.Ö., who was reported to have died from freezing, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute's morgue to determine the exact cause of death.
