Galatasaray denied the claims regarding a salary crisis involving Victor Osimhen, who was not included in the squad for the match against Konyaspor. Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Vice President Abdullah Kavukçu stated that the club has no financial issues and that payments to players are made on time. Kavukçu expressed that such news is intended to create confusion within Galatasaray and sow seeds of discord.
An explanation has come from Galatasaray regarding the salary crisis claims raised about Victor Osimhen, who was not included in the squad for the away match against Konyaspor.
CLAIM THAT HE DID NOT GO BECAUSE HE "DID NOT RECEIVE HIS SALARY"
It was suggested that the Nigerian star, who did not play in the match where the yellow-reds lost 2-0 to Konyaspor, was not included in the squad not due to knee pain but because he had not received his salary for two months.
KAVUKÇU: GALATASARAY HAS NO MONEY PROBLEM
Abdullah Kavukçu, the Vice Chairman of Galatasaray Sportif AŞ, denied the claims in a statement to Sabah. Kavukçu stated, "Galatasaray has no money problem. In Europe, payments to players are made after 3 months. In our case, the salary for January is paid in February, and the salary for February is paid in March. Additionally, with the sensitivity of our President Dursun Özbek, we never accumulate bonuses; we pay them immediately," he said.
“THEY WANT TO SOW SEEDS OF DISCORD”
Kavukçu expressed his reaction by saying, "They are deliberately making these news. Their aim is to stir up Galatasaray and sow seeds of discord within us. The claim that payments are not made is a complete lie. Could we have received the debt-free certificate we submitted to UEFA on January 15?" It is expected that Osimhen will be part of the squad for the match against Juventus in the Champions League.
