Statue Honoring the Mysterious Bitcoin Creator in Lugano
A special artwork immortalizing the mysterious architect of the cryptocurrency world, Satoshi Nakamoto, was unveiled in the Swiss city of Lugano. The statue's inauguration, led by the stablecoin giant Tether, garnered significant attention as part of the Plan B Forum events.
The piece, signed by artist Valentina Picozzi, draws attention with its visual illusion technique that changes based on the viewer's position. This unique design cleverly symbolizes the creator of Bitcoin's disappearance after bringing the project to life.
Lugano's Mayor Michele Foletti emphasized the city's vision of leading digital innovations, stating, "This artwork reflects both our city's innovative identity and keeps Nakamoto's legacy alive."
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, in a statement regarding the statue, said, "It will serve as an inspiration for us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation by embodying Satoshi's vision of financial freedom."
The timing of the statue's unveiling coincided with the release of the documentary "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery." The documentary claims that Bitcoin developer Peter Todd could be Nakamoto. While Todd denied these claims, the Bitcoin community also opposed this view.
