A person who fled in a stolen vehicle in Isparta was caught by gendarmerie teams and committed suicide by shooting himself twice in the chest with a shotgun.
In the village of Hisarardı, located in the Yalvaç district of Isparta, a person who fled in a stolen vehicle opened fire after ignoring the gendarmerie team's 'surrender' warning. Despite the security forces' warnings, the suspect, who did not drop his weapon, shot himself with a shotgun.
CAUGHT WHILE HIDING IN A WOODED AREA
The incident occurred on July 3 at around 12:15 PM in the Su Çıktığı area of Hisarardı village. According to the information obtained, gendarmerie teams were mobilized upon receiving a tip-off that a person named Hakan İ. (54) had fled in a stolen vehicle with the license plate 34 RS 423. As a result of their efforts, the gendarmerie teams found the vehicle abandoned in rural terrain. During the searches in the area, the suspect Hakan İ. was caught while hiding in a wooded area.
COMMITTED SUICIDE WHEN THE TEAMS NOTICED
When Hakan İ. noticed the gendarmerie teams, he fired a shot with his shotgun. The teams then fired two warning shots into the air and called for him to surrender. The suspect, ignoring the warnings, shot himself twice in the chest with the shotgun and committed suicide. It was reported that no gendarmerie personnel were injured in the incident, and Hakan İ.'s body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy after the prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams completed their work.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
