The prison of Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci in Istanbul Eyüpsultan on the night of March 1st and fled to the United States with his mother Eylem Tok and was arrested, has been changed.
According to Emrullah Erdinç, Timur Cihantimur, who was reported to be changing prisons the day before yesterday, was transferred from Connecticut to another correctional facility in Massachusetts.
Previously, a request for bail pending trial was made for Timur Cihantimur, and it was reported that the judge is still considering this matter.
Although the judge previously stated that he would evaluate the application for Timur Cihantimur's bail pending trial as soon as possible, he has not yet announced his decision.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, on March 1, 2024, Timur Cihantimur, the 17-year-old son of writer Eylem Tok, collided with three ATV-type vehicles parked on the side of the road due to a breakdown while driving without a license.
As a result of the accident, 29-year-old Oğuz Murat Aci lost his life, while other people present at the scene were injured, and after the incident, Eylem Tok took her son Timur Cihantimur away before the police arrived at the scene. Eylem Tok and her son fled to Egypt from the airport at around 03:50 the next day, and from there, they escaped to the United States. A red notice was issued for Timur Cihantimur and his mother Eylem Tok on May 23, and the two were captured and arrested in the United States on June 14.
