In the Küçükçekmece district, a collapse occurred on a road that İSKİ had closed for maintenance due to heavy rainfall. Two vehicles fell into the pit on the street, and they were pulled out by a construction machine.
The incident took place around 3:00 PM on 3rd Can Street in the Kemalpaşa neighborhood of Küçükçekmece. According to reports, a collapse occurred today on the street that İSKİ teams had closed after working on it due to the effects of heavy rainfall.
ROAD COLLAPSED, TWO VEHICLES FELL INTO THE PIT
After the collapse, two vehicles passing through the street fell into the pit. The vehicles that fell into the pit were pulled out by a construction machine. Some pedestrians walking on the road also fell into the pit during the day. Meanwhile, vehicles entering the street had difficulty passing, while pedestrians experienced challenging moments.
"İSKİ DUG THIS 15 DAYS AGO"
Speaking on the matter, shopkeeper Salim Demirkol said, "Around 3:00 PM, this place collapsed, and two vehicles fell in. As shopkeepers, we helped. Elderly men coming out of the mosque fell here. We tried to rescue them. As shopkeepers, we are very distressed here. İSKİ dug this up 15 days ago. They covered it and left it like that. There is a sewage smell here. It is causing a blockage. Vehicles have a hard time passing. People cannot cross from one side to the other," he said.
