The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is keeping a pulse on the agenda with live broadcasts conducted by Haberler.com as it begins the 4th Legislative Year of the 28th Term.
One of the topics discussed by Haberler.com News Director Olgun Kızıltepe and presenter Melis Yaşar was AK Party Kocaeli Deputy Cemil Yaman's evaluations regarding the agenda. Yaman stated that as a nation, we have suffered greatly from terrorism, expressing that Turkey is no longer the Turkey of yesterday. Emphasizing that the resources that feed terrorism in Turkey have lost their significance, Yaman said that we are going through one of the most important processes in the history of the Republic with the Terror-Free Turkey process.
"THE COST OF TERRORISM TO TURKEY IN 40 YEARS IS 2 TRILLION DOLLARS"
In exclusive statements to Haberler.com regarding the Terror-Free Turkey process, Yaman spoke about the economic cost of terrorism. Yaman stated, "The cost of the terrorist organization and terrorism to Turkey in the last 40 years is approximately 2 trillion dollars. This figure is a very large amount. When we divide this by provinces, it is about 25 billion dollars."
"IF THIS RESOURCE HAD GONE TO THE PUBLIC, EVERY CITY WOULD HAVE RECEIVED 25 BILLION DOLLARS IN INVESTMENT"
Pointing out that if the resources going to terrorism had been converted into public services, each city would have received an average of 25 billion dollars in investment, Yaman said, "We have done magnificent work in Kocaeli over the past 25-23 years. We have provided enormous services. We have received approximately 10 billion dollars in investment for Kocaeli. On average, our cities in Turkey have received 10 billion dollars in investment. If this resource going to terrorism had been converted into public services, each of our cities would have received an average of 25 billion dollars in investment."
"PUBLIC SUPPORT IS HIGHER IN THE EAST"
Evaluating public support during the Terror-Free Turkey process, Yaman stated, "Public support is much higher in the East and Southeast. The rate in the East is higher compared to the West, but there is still public support at the level of 80-85 percent. The public is tired of terrorism." Yaman wished that the new legislative term would bring beauty and goodness to our country.
