Mustafa A., who killed his 2-month-old wife by slitting her throat in Aydın, will be readmitted to the hospital following the court's decision to revoke his release on the grounds that he was "not of sound mind." As the decision is being reviewed due to an objection from Necla A.'s family, there has been significant backlash against the idea of the defendant being released from prison.
Mustafa A., who killed his 2-month pregnant wife by cutting her throat in the Koçarlı district of Aydın 3 years ago, has been released by the court's decision that he was 'not of sound mind' in recent days. Following an appeal, the release decision has been revoked, and he will be hospitalized for treatment.
The incident occurred on August 31, 2022, in the Demiroluk Plateau of the Satılar neighborhood in the Koçarlı district. Necla A. (32) married Mustafa A. (33), who lives in Koçarlı, on June 26, 2022. The young woman, whose henna on her hand had not yet faded, became a victim of a horrific murder just 2 months into her marriage.
"NOT OF SOUND MIND" REPORT
Necla A., who was allegedly killed by her husband Mustafa A. by having her throat cut, with psychological issues hidden during their engagement and wedding, was buried in tears. After the incident, Mustafa A. was arrested and sent to prison by the court he was brought before. A report was prepared stating that Mustafa A. was 'not of sound mind' after approximately 3 years in prison.
RELEASE DECISION REVOKED
The court, taking the report into account, decided that the individual did not have criminal capacity and ordered his release from prison. Following this decision, Necla A.'s family appealed. After the appeal was accepted, the İzmir Execution Court revoked the release decision regarding Mustafa A., and it was learned that he would be hospitalized again for treatment.
