A price increase for cigarettes has occurred before the New Year. The Philip Morris group, the largest producer in the tobacco market in Turkey, has raised cigarette prices by 5 TL. As a result, the cheapest cigarette has risen to 95 TL, while the most expensive cigarette is now 105 TL. Competing companies are also expected to announce price increases within this week.

A new price increase has been made that will upset cigarette addicts. After the price hikes at the beginning of August, there was another increase in cigarette prices in October. Philip Morris, the largest company in the tobacco market in Turkey, raised the price by 5 lira per pack.

THE CHEAPEST CIGARETTE HAS INCREASED TO 95 LIRA

The cheapest cigarette produced by the company has risen to 95 lira, while the most demanded products in the market will be sold for 100 and 105 TL. Following Philip Morris, it is expected that rival companies will also increase their prices before the end of this week.

Özgür Aybaş, the President of the Turkish Tobacco Retailers Platform, stated in a post on his social media account, "A price increase has occurred for cigarettes, good luck to the country! Prices have risen between 100 and 105 TL. The cheapest cigarette is now 95 TL," he expressed.

ANOTHER PRICE INCREASE IS EXPECTED IN THE NEW YEAR

In the upcoming period, with the update of the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV), an increase in cigarette prices is expected in the new year as well.

THIRD PRICE INCREASE IN 2025

Cigarette prices entered 2025 with an increase. With the reorganization of the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) rates, an average increase of 10 TL per pack was made in cigarette prices. Thus, the price of the cheapest cigarette exceeded 80 lira. Later, in August, another increase of 5 TL was made. The third increase was 5 lira in October.
