The black-and-white club announced that it has applied to intervene in the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Beşiktaş's statement is as follows:
"Our club has today applied to intervene in the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following the statement of the President of the Turkish Football Federation, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, that 371 referees have betting accounts and that 152 of them are actively betting.
A notification has been made to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requesting the investigation to be expanded regarding whether all matches played by our Football A Team in the last five seasons have been unlawfully bet on through referees or other suspects, and whether there is any act that has caused damage or loss of rights to our club. It has also been communicated to the prosecutor's office that our club is ready to provide all kinds of support within the scope of the investigation."
