The attack was captured moment by moment by the vehicle's security camera. The footage shows that there was no argument before the incident, and the attacker suddenly sprang into action, while other passengers on the bus attempted to intervene and stop him.
WHAT HAPPENED?
It was reported that a dispute broke out between two passengers on the IETT bus traveling on Sazlıbosna road in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul for an unknown reason, and as the argument escalated, a fight ensued between the parties. One of the passengers stabbed two citizens, and the IETT driver, who got up from the driver's seat to intervene, was also stabbed.
One of the injured, 65-year-old Kazım Özturlay, was taken to the hospital by ambulance but unfortunately could not be saved despite all the interventions. It was reported that the treatment of the driver and the other injured passenger was ongoing, and the driver's life was still in danger. The attacker was apprehended by police teams.
