"WE REJECT THE ATTACK ON VENEZUELA AND LATIN AMERICA'S SOVEREIGNTY"

Petro stated, "As members of the United Nations Security Council, we aim to convene the Council. The Colombian government rejects the attack on the sovereignty of Venezuela and Latin America. Internal conflicts between peoples should be resolved peacefully by the peoples themselves. This is the principle of self-determination that forms the foundation of the United Nations system. I invite the Venezuelan people to find ways of civil dialogue and unity. Without sovereignty, there is no nation. Peace is the path to progress, and dialogue between peoples is fundamental for national unity. Our proposal is dialogue and more dialogue."
