Thai military official Admiral Surasant Kongsiri stated that Cambodian soldiers equipped with drones and rocket launchers were deployed to the border in the morning. Kongsiri said, "Cambodian soldiers opened fire on Thai troops. Our soldiers responded in self-defense."

The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Cambodian army has been conducting attacks targeting civilian areas, including a hospital in Thailand, leading to casualties. The ministry called for an end to actions that it said seriously violate international law.
The ministry stated, "Thailand is prepared to intensify self-defense measures if Cambodia continues armed attacks and violations against Thailand's sovereignty in accordance with international law and principles."
