Garanti BBVA announced that Murat Atay, the Head of Credit Risk Management, has left the bank. Gökhan Koca will be appointed as the Head of Credit Risk Management, while Nurdan Tunay Günaylı will be appointed as the General Manager of Pension and Life.
Gökhan Koca will take over the position of Head of Credit Risk Management at Garanti BBVA, which he has held since December 2024 as the General Manager of Garanti BBVA Pension and Life. The role of General Manager of Garanti BBVA Pension and Life will be taken over by Nurdan Tunay Günaylı, who is currently the Director of the Istanbul Marketing Department of Garanti BBVA SME Banking.
After serving in various positions at Garanti BBVA for many years, Murat Atay, who has most recently been the Head of Credit Risk Management, is leaving the bank.

In line with this development, Gökhan Koca will take over the position of Head of Credit Risk Management at Garanti BBVA, which he has held since December 2024 as the General Manager of Garanti BBVA Pension and Life. The role of General Manager of Garanti BBVA Pension and Life will be taken over by Nurdan Tunay Günaylı, who is currently the Director of the Istanbul Marketing Department of Garanti BBVA SME Banking.
The appointments will take effect after the completion of the necessary legal processes and obtaining the required approvals.
WHO IS GÖKHAN KOCA?
According to the information provided, Gökhan Koca began his career at Garanti BBVA in 2000 as an inspector and continued with senior positions at Garanti BBVA Mortgage between 2006 and 2017. Koca served as the Director of SME and Agricultural Banking at the bank between 2017 and 2019, and took on the role of Global Head of SME Banking at BBVA's Madrid headquarters from 2019 to 2024. During the same period, he served as a Board Member at the Finland-based fintech company Holvi between November 2019 and February 2021. Koca has over 25 years of experience in the banking sector.
