DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan stated that if no setback occurs, a framework law will be presented to the Parliament this week, emphasizing that the process is valuable and they will play a pioneering role for peace.
DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan said regarding the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, 'If no setback occurs, a framework law will come to the Parliament as soon as possible. A law will likely come this week. We should not underestimate this law.'
In his speech at the DEM Party Mersin 3rd Ordinary Provincial Congress held at the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Congress and Exhibition Hall, Bakırhan stated that his party continues its struggle for democracy, peace, and rights.
'WE NEED TO LEARN LESSONS BY LOOKING AT THE MIDDLE EAST'
Bakırhan, noting that serious wars and conflicts are taking place in regions close to Turkey, said, 'Now we need to draw great lessons by looking at the Middle East. Perhaps by looking at the Middle East, we can all understand how valuable and important the peace and democratic society process we are currently pursuing is.'
'LIKELY THIS WEEK'
Bakırhan assessed the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, stating, 'If no setback occurs, a framework law will come to the Parliament as soon as possible. A law will likely come this week. We should not underestimate this law.'
Emphasizing the great value of the process, Bakırhan noted the following:
'The peace of this country is precious. This peace should be the work of all of us. As the DEM Party, we will play a role and mission that opens the way for this process, not obstructs it. We will not reopen wounds but will strive to ensure that pains are not experienced again.'
The congress was also attended by DEM Party Mersin Deputy Ali Bozan and Diyarbakır Deputy Serhat Eren, along with provincial and district administrators and party members.
