The leader of the İYİ Party, Müsavat Dervişoğlu, reacted with strong words to the decision made by the Terror-Free Turkey Commission to visit İmralı. Dervişoğlu stated, "Taking the National Assembly, the embodiment of the national will, to the feet of a convicted murderer means equating the state with a terrorist and a terrorist organization."

The National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission made the decision to go to İmralı in today's meeting. Müsavat Dervişoğlu, the General Chairman of the İYİ Party, which has not been part of the commission from the very beginning, reacted strongly to the decision.

DERVİŞOĞLU'S STRONG REACTION TO THE "İMRALI DECISION"

In a statement on his social media account, Dervişoğlu said: "Taking the will of the nation to the feet of a convicted murderer means equating the state with a terrorist and a terrorist organization.

I have expressed in detail from the very beginning that the main purpose of the pirate commission established in the Parliament is actually this. I have repeatedly stated that the numerical structure of the commission and the decision quorum were cunningly planned, and that the positions of the parties opposing the process within the commission were prepared solely to legitimize the decisions to be taken, and therefore, it was right not to participate in the commission and that careful behavior was necessary to avoid falling into this trap.

"HISTORY WILL NEVER FORGIVE WHAT HAS HAPPENED"

Looking at the outcome, I am deeply saddened to be proven right once again. The goal of the DEM Party, along with the intention shared by Mr. Bahçeli regarding this process, has been that Mr. Erdoğan, as President, has pretended to remain neutral, while officially approving it as the Chairman of the AKP. History and the nation will never forgive all that has happened. You will definitely hear the loud voice of our nation, which you have ignored, in the squares and at the ballot boxes."
