Twenty-five people who ate lahmacun at a restaurant in Şişli, Istanbul, were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning. Meanwhile, 29 students at a school in Gümüşhane became ill after eating pide ordered from outside and were taken to the hospital.

Lahmacun POISONED 25 PEOPLE
25 people who ate lahmacun from a restaurant in Şişli, Istanbul, were hospitalized with suspected food poisoning. It has been reported that the citizens' treatment is ongoing and their health conditions are good.
İstanbul Provincial Health Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Emre Güner stated in a statement on his social media account regarding the issue, "Some of our citizens who dined at an establishment in Şişli district of Istanbul have applied to nearby hospitals with suspected food poisoning. A total of 25 people have applied to health institutions regarding the incident. The general health conditions of our citizens who applied are good, and necessary medical evaluations and treatments are being carried out." he said.
29 STUDENTS WHO ATE PIDE BECAME ILL
In the dormitory of İmam Hatip Middle School located in the Ünlüpınar town of Kelkit district in Gümüşhane, many students experienced abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting after eating pides ordered from outside during lunch. As the complaints increased, the school administration reported the situation to health teams. 29 students were taken to Kelkit State Hospital for treatment by ambulances dispatched to the scene.
In a statement from the Gümüşhane Governorship regarding the issue, it was noted that the students were brought to the Emergency Department of Kelkit State Hospital at 16:14 today by 112 ambulances and outpatient applications. The governorship reported that the students complained of illness after consuming pide and ayran during lunch, stating that their general health conditions are good and there is no life-threatening situation. It was recorded that 23 of the 29 students who were treated were discharged by 19:00, while 6 students continued to be kept under observation.
The statement also mentioned that teams from the District Health Directorate and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry have started laboratory examinations by taking water and food samples, and that the Kelkit Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated a judicial investigation regarding the incident.
