The United Nations announced that 30,000 people in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank have left the area due to attacks by the Israeli army.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Communications Director Juliette Touma reported that 30,000 people from the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank have left the area as the Israeli army intensified its attacks.

30 THOUSAND PEOPLE HAVE LEFT

Touma stated during the weekly press conference of the United Nations (UN) Office in Geneva that the Israeli army has intensified its attacks in the occupied West Bank.

Pointing out that a part of the Jenin refugee camp has been completely destroyed due to the attacks, Touma conveyed that 30,000 people had left the Jenin refugee camp as of this morning.

"ISRAEL'S LAWS HAVE CAUSED HARDSHIPS"

Touma indicated that UNRWA is facing unprecedented difficulties following the adoption of two laws by the Israeli parliament that prohibit its activities in Israeli territory and the occupied Palestinian territories and prevent Israeli officials from having any contact with the agency, noting that these two laws came into effect last week.

Emphasizing that the humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip are at a very high level, Touma pointed out that UNRWA staff have been working to distribute supplies from thousands of aid trucks that entered the region after the ceasefire that began on January 19.

"NO TRUCK ENTRIES SINCE JANUARY 30"

Touma highlighted that UNRWA has been delivering aid to those in need with over 5,000 staff on the ground, stating, "Since the ceasefire began, UNRWA has brought 60% of all aid that has entered Gaza."

Touma shared that, according to the ongoing ceasefire agreement, the weekly target has been met and 4,200 trucks have entered the Gaza Strip, indicating that there have been no entries of aid trucks as of January 30.
