Recently, 36-year-old goalkeeper Mert Günok, who mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Beşiktaş, made a farewell post on his social media account.

Evaluating his time wearing the Beşiktaş jersey, Günok included the following statements in his message:
"August 15, 2021. The first day I signed with Beşiktaş... Hundreds of training sessions, dozens of matches, victories, defeats, injuries, comebacks, chances, misfortunes... I experienced every emotion a goalkeeper can go through. I always did my best for Beşiktaş. I played over 100 matches in this jersey; not for a moment did I tarnish the culture and history of this community.
